This week is Volunteers’ Week, a great opportunity for us to celebrate our incredible and diverse FAN Volunteers. They are essential in making FAN what it is — a welcoming space where communities connect across cultures, ages and backgrounds.
.
All of our FAN Facilitators and Trustees are volunteers and we have other volunteers who support us in other ways, such as managing our social media and representing FAN at events. They generously give us their time, enthusiasm and expertise to help us reach people from around the corner and around the world.
.
These are some of the things that they feel about volunteering with FAN:
“I feel more connected and useful in my community.” “I love the way the group brings people together who are so different.” “The benefits for participants are for me too.”
.
We want every volunteer who supports FAN to feel valued and confident in their role, and we do that by offering training and ongoing support.
Thanks to funding from Awards for All, our work continues to grow across Cardiff, Barry, Bridgend, Newport, Swansea and Llanelli, as well as in our virtual FAN groups.
