We’re ending Volunteers’ Week posts with someone who may not need an introduction at all — Gill Saunders — because she is already known and loved by so many people!

Nearly 24 years ago, Gill came up with the idea that became FAN. From that moment on, she has poured an incredible amount of energy, passion and determination into bringing FAN to life and helping it grow — all as a volunteer. She has started new FAN Groups, supported countless Facilitators, Staff and Trustees, and championed FAN in every setting imaginable.

Through her work, Gill has built friendships and connections with people from across the world and from just around the corner. Her warmth and belief in the power of people communicating thoughts and feelings to each other, have shaped FAN into what it is today. .

And she still hasn’t stopped. Gill continues to give her time freely as a regular FAN Facilitator and remains one of FAN’s strongest voices.
