On 21st September 2021 The FAN (Friends and Neighbours) Charity was presented with the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, by the Lord Lieutenant of Glamorgan, Mrs Morfydd Meredith.
In a Covid reduced presentation FAN volunteers representing our wonderful FAN volunteers were delighted to hear the Lord Lieutenant's warm praise for the work of FAN volunteers, bringing communities together and making the world a less lonely place, especially during the pandemic. Ian Thomson FAN Chair received the crystal award on FAN's behalf and certificate signed by Her Majesty the Queen, and thanked the Lord Lieutenant for her generous words. Zahra gave flowers to the Lord Lieutenant and shared how FAN had made such a difference to her life.
