The FAN Charity is able to continue supporting the community during the Coronavirus crisis thanks to National Lottery funding and National Lottery players. The FAN Charity has received £15,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund.
This will mean we can continue to deliver the benefits of FAN for the next several months through virtual FAN groups and a wide range of other means of support, to our existing and the wider community, to make coping with the isolation and fears we are experiencing at the moment, just a little bit easier.
The FAN Charity already has a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund to grow FAN in the Swansea and Newport area. This additional money will mean we can meet the costs of our community response to the situation.
Roy Skelton, Chair of Trustees at FAN said: "This has been such a difficult time for our staff, volunteers and participants. We did not want to furlough staff as we needed to keep our networks going in whatever way we could. We can't meet face to face, and have had to act quickly to make sure the warm FAN welcome continues and our community is supported. This grant has guaranteed our ability to continue to do this. Thank you!"
