24 September 2015
We had a good FAN meeting this morning in 43 Charles Street. Lots of us enjoyed talking in turn about animals which was the subject chosen by Terri-Ann who took the meeting and brought us cakes she had made! People from all countries spoke of their great love of animals. Dogs and cats are popular across the world.
The funniest story was of someone's childhood in Iran when one of our friends told us how she was chased as a little girl of about 5 or 6 years old all down the street by a rooster that was taller than her. She described herself running hysterically down the road with all the children shouting for grown-ups and the owner to come and rescue her. The owner of the rooster appeared on the street and called the Rooster's name once. 'Hooshank!'. Immediately the Rooster stopped - within inches of the little girl. And he turned and returned to his owner.
Quite a lot of us went afterwards to have a drink of tea or soup or salad at a restaurant so that we could go on talking and being together. On Saturday 26th September we will stay on after the meeting and share a bit of lunch - bring something to share if you can - but don't worry if you can't, come anyway.
